One of the things that the Philippiens are known for is the gogeous beaches that are called the world's finest. Some of the most popular beaches are Boracay, Panglao, and Palawan. These beaches are enjoyable for a day to relax or a time to scuba dive in the clear waters.
This bronze statue of Lapu-Lapu is located in Mactan Shrine. Lapu-Lapu was the native chieftain of Mactan Island that wanted to convert his people to Christians. 
The Magellan shrine is a large memorial tower erected in honor of the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan.
This spot is where the area where Magellan was killed in the Battle of Mactan on 1521.

The Philippines is regarded the “text capital of the world”. About 350 to 400 million text messages are sent daily by 35 million cell phone subscribers in the country, which is more than the total daily text messages sent in the U.S. and Europe, together.
The Pacific Ocean is known to contain the deepest ocean trenches in the world. The Mindanao trench, which lies close to the Philippines, is six and a half miles deep.
Its capital city Manila was named after a white-flowered mangrove plant, the nilad.
The Philippine flag is the only flag in the world which is hoisted upside-down when the country is in war.
